Bring a Mate Day

Join us for the "Bring a Mate, Have a Go Day" on Saturday 6th July from 12pm to 4pm at Kartsport Wellington!

For $10 per person, your mates can take the wheel and experience the thrill of karting in a kart provided by you, our members. This event is not just about speed and competition; it's a chance to introduce new faces to the sport and perhaps discover a new hobby.

We'll be running sessions for various classes, including Senior, Junior, VMR, and Cadet, ensuring that there's something for everyone, regardless of their experience level. After the day finishes, stick around for a free sausage sizzle and refresh your spirits at the bar, which will be open for you to enjoy a drink!

*Indemnity forms must be signed by each driver.

**$10 per driver will be collected on the day.

***Event will only be run in dry weather.

****The idea behind this is for members to bring karts for their mates to try. It's not a standard “have a go day”.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM is upon us in a few weeks. This is a great chance to get involved with the club and have a say on how we operate. Without your ideas and comments the club cannot function, so it would be awesome to see as many people as possible at the meeting whether in person or via Zoom.

Date: Thursday 18 July

Time: 7:30pm

Venue: Angus Inn Lower Hutt & via Zoom (Online link to be sent closer to the time)

Parking: Please see the Angus Inn staff on arrival to register your car into their carpark.

Event Spotlight

Club day this month is our usual 5 heat format and is the last round of annual points!

Seniors have an all in 20 lapper at the end of the day, the Bill Picard Memorial Grand Prix! Make sure you don't miss this iconic race!

Ambulance Grant

Our amazing Grants man, Murray, has recently been successful in securing the club just over $14,000 from Trust House! This will go towards our costs to have fully trained Paramedics on site at every meeting with Wellington Free ambulance!

Nearby Events

12-13 July — Nationals Schools Champs — Nelson

19-21 July - KSMZ Super Kart Nationals - Manfeild

Good luck to those travelling away to compete!!!

In The Limelight

Campbell Owens - WPKA Goldstar Junior Rotax Champion

Well done Cam! The GS plates will look good zooming around Wellington!

Jacob Pye - WPKA Goldstar Junior Rotax Second Place

Awesome to see Jacob also standing on the podium for the Goldstar series. It was a tough fight all the way, with the narrowest of margins determining 1st & 2nd.

James Hadley - Sunbelts

James recently went to the South Island to race in Sunbelts. Great to see a KSW member travelling down south!

Bucket Bike Business

The bucket bikers have been busy, with some racing away in Taranaki recently.

We are in need of replacing some crash bags and fencing. Our friends in BRNZ would love it if we could lend them a hand. Get in touch with Ian if you'd be keen to help out for a few hours one day to get the job done!

Bucket Racing New Zealand also won club of the year at the MNZ AGM. They took home the prestigious Ken Duncan Memorial Trophy. Well done to the BRNZ club!

Keeping Legal…

As we head through winter and have a higher chance of racing in the rain. Please remember rule K1.6 & K5.7.4 for your rear bumpers.

The rear wheels must at all times be outside of the edges of the rear bumper.

Lost Property!

We have had a few things get left behind lately! Please let us know if they belong to you!

  • Tyre Pressure Gauge - Found in one of the Bucket Bike shelters.
  • Electric Starter Unit (Racket 120 etc)

See you at the race track soon!

Thanks to our

awesome sponsors!
