From the President

A belated happy 2026 to you all! We are well and truly in full swing for this year and have already had a great first club day in January. This month we are running a 6 race club day with 3 races each way! A day sure to be fun and challenging for all.

You will notice we have done a few things differently this year to try something new. We are splitting the Enduro races through the year to avoid having people spending an entire day at the track for one race after their briefing at 9am. Hopefully this will mean better bang for buck through the year and a lot less waiting around. A big thanks to Atomise who have also come back on board this year as our enduro sponsor.

We have also introduced a “sub series” to the Annual Points, with this year seeing us running a Summer and Winter series. This will be a fun little addition to those who may not be able to commit to a full years racing but still want to have some sort of series to aim for.

2026 also has us bringing back the hugely popular Chronis Night Challenge. Our first hit out last year was incredible, and we are so excited to give it another crack this year. We have taken on your feedback and will have more lighting this year in places that were lacking a touch last year!

Now for the gritty stuff, we have a working bee this month on Saturday the 28th. Please please please, set aside just a few hours of your weekend to help out and give back to your club. We have a great team who collectively spend well over 100 hours a month keeping our club looking great, but we do need a few more hands every now and then to help out with some bigger jobs.

We are only asking for 3-4 hours of your Saturday morning, and as the old saying goes…Many hands make light work…

That's all from me and I'll see you all on Sunday!

Simon BC

Club Calendar

&

Track Closures

Did you know that Kartsport Wellington has a Google calendar you can subscribe to?

All you need to do is add the calendar into your own Google calendar and subscribe to club@kartsportwellington.co.nz

Save time, see all of our events, track closures and important dates are also added in so you can be kept in the loop without lifting a finger!

Track closures are also updated frequently on the club website, be sure to check here before you head up for a practice session.

Working Bee

Please come along for a few hours on Saturday 28th, we need help with the following jobs…

  • Race control to Ambulance parking fence needs cleaning/painting
  • General gardening/scrub cutting
  • Tidy up hill by race control, spectator bank, pit entry corner
  • Weed eating and spraying spectator area, trailer parks, main entry
  • Rubbish collection behind bin shed, toilet block, trailer parks

Keeping Legal…

With the new SH2 tyre introduced now, we just want to remind everyone that either the old SH tyre or the new SH2 tyre can be used in competition at the moment.

The old SH tyre can be used up until the end of June 2026, after that it can only be used for practice.

Rules Reminder

A further reminder of the basics when you are at the track this summer enjoying our track and facilities.

  • Track hours are 9am to 6pm (9-5 without daylight savings)
  • Close the gate behind you whether you are coming or going, no exceptions…If it is open, close it.
  • No U turns on the dummy grid. The only way off the track is by using the pit chute or mechanical lane.
  • You may only practice in reverse if the track is set up for it by the Committee.
  • No mixing of age groups (Cadet, Mini Rok, Junior, Senior are the only allowed groups).
  • Please be tidy and take your rubbish and scrap tyres with you.
  • 10 minute sessions if people are waiting.
  • If you notice something wrong with the facilities, scan the QR code in the race results box which takes you to a notification form.

We are incredibly lucky to have almost unlimited access to our track, there are some clubs around the country that can only practice once or twice a week. By working together, playing by the rules, and being safe, we are ensuring we can continue to operate with as much freedom as we currently enjoy.

See you at the race track soon!

Thanks to our

awesome sponsors!
